GenConAI Procurement System

POC v1.0 Released for Evaluation

An AI-powered procurement and material management platform designed to connect purchasing, vendors, EDI and digital data exchange, receiving, inventory, job usage, reconciliation, and financial visibility - reducing disconnected processes and improving operational control.

My responsibilities

GenConAI brings together business analysis, financial thinking, product strategy, solution architecture, AI-assisted engineering, and implementation into a single transformation initiative focused on procurement and material operations.

Connecting procurement, materials, operations, and financial visibility.

Construction procurement and material operations can become fragmented across jobs, purchasing, vendors, deliveries, receiving, inventory, field usage, reconciliation, and financial processes. GenConAI is being designed to connect that operating chain into a unified platform, using AI and digital data exchange to reduce manual intervention, strengthen material control, and improve operational visibility.

  9. 09Reconciliation

The objective is a connected flow of operational information from purchasing through material usage and reconciliation rather than isolated transactions across disconnected processes.

Five connected responsibilities behind the product.

01

Business Leadership

Identified the procurement, inventory, material-control, and operational-visibility problems the platform is intended to address, and defined the business workflow and product direction around connecting purchasing through job-level reconciliation.

02

Financial Planning

Designed the platform direction around stronger purchasing controls, material accountability, reconciliation, variance visibility, and future financial analysis - creating a foundation for measuring operational and financial performance.

03

Product Leadership

Defined the GenConAI product vision, POC scope, workflow, feature roadmap, evaluation strategy, mobile direction, vendor collaboration, AI capabilities, EDI and digital data exchange, and progression toward a broader construction operations platform.

04

Technical Leadership

Designed the solution architecture across the web application, API services, data layer, AI document processing, purchase-order and vendor workflows, receiving, inventory, reconciliation, and future integration capabilities.

05

Engineering Execution

Directed and performed hands-on AI-assisted engineering, implementation review, testing, debugging, deployment planning, UX refinement, application development, and validation across the evolving GenConAI platform.

From procurement transactions to operational intelligence.

AI-Assisted Procurement

AI-supported document intake and extraction designed to reduce manual entry and accelerate procurement workflows while keeping business validation within the application.

Purchase Order Management

Job-connected purchasing workflows spanning purchase-order creation, issuance, vendor communication, fulfillment activity, and receiving.

EDI & Digital Data Exchange

A platform direction for connecting vendors and external systems through EDI, APIs, and structured digital exchange while preserving a consistent GenConAI business model.

Receiving & Material Control

Receiving workflows designed to capture accepted, damaged, rejected, missing, and overage quantities and connect receipt activity to downstream material control.

Inventory & Traceability

Material tracking across inventory locations, tracking units, labels, and inventory movement, supporting stronger traceability from receipt through usage.

Job Material Usage

Material-issue workflows connect inventory consumption to jobs while preserving traceability between procurement, received material, available inventory, and job usage.

Connecting physical materials to digital records.

The GenConAI roadmap includes GS1/GTIN-aware product identification and barcode intelligence to strengthen material recognition, receiving validation, inventory traceability, and product data consistency while maintaining GenConAI's own internal tracking identity where required.

AI as an operational layer, not a standalone feature.

GenConAI is being designed to apply AI where it can reduce manual work, interpret business documents and data, assist users, identify exceptions, and accelerate operational decisions. Transactional records, business rules, validation, and auditability remain part of the controlled application workflow rather than being delegated blindly to an AI model.

The objective is less repetitive human intervention while preserving the controls required for reliable procurement, inventory, reconciliation, and financial processes.

Designed as an extensible enterprise application.

The architecture separates the user experience, application services, transactional data, AI-assisted processing, and external integration concerns so the platform can evolve beyond the current POC without tying core business workflows to a single integration method or AI model.

POC v1.0 Released for Evaluation

The current GenConAI POC demonstrates the core procurement and material-management workflow while providing a foundation for continued development in AI automation, EDI and vendor integration, mobile operations, product identification, market intelligence, reconciliation, and financial analysis.

The publicly linked environment is a staging / evaluation environment, not a production deployment.
